Obituary

Wilmer Howard Carson, age 86, of Troy, passed away February 16, 2003 at his home. Mr. Carson was self-employed in the trucking business for over 40 years. He was a member of Troy United Methodist Church; Troy Lions Club, American Legion Post 708, VFW Post 1300, Granite City, Illinois; the Fourth Armored Division Association of Mid American Tri State Chapter, and he was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Finley and Grace, nee Torrens, Carson; a brother Robert Samuel Carson; and two sisters, Jayme Patton and Maude Grady. He is survived by his wife, Maxine, nee Schleeter, Carson; a son, Wilmer H. "Corky" Carson of Indianapolis; two dauthers, Carole Mercurio of Troy; and Cheryl Voegele of Highland; three sisters, Evelyn Short of Fayetteville, TN, Mary Noeth of Granite City, and Norma Tilson of Highland; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Troy Lions Club, Troy United Methodist Church or to Gateway Hospice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 - 10 am, Saturday, February 22, 2003 at Troy United Methodist Church

Memorial Service: 10 AM, Saturday, February 22, 2003 at Troy United Methodist Church with Reverend Dennis Price officiating.
