William James Walsh Sr., 77 of Troy, IL, born, Sunday, May 11, 1947, in East St. Louis, IL and passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at St. Louis University Medical Center after a brief illness.
William and Debbie owned and operated 5 Star Billiards in Troy for 18 years. He worked for Grey Hound Bus Services for 16 years. Bill enjoyed golfing, deer hunting, playing competition pool and the trips to Las Vegas and the pool competitions. William owned, trained horses and was a Jockey and Clocker at Fairmont Racetrack for many years. Most of all he loved his wife, son and grandchildren and was happiest when they were spending time together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert P. Sr. and Adele (nee Kukarola) Walsh; sister, Mary Fowler and his brother, Robert P. Walsh Jr.
Surviving is his wife, Debbie (nee Griffith) Walsh whom he married on July 11, 1969, in Granite City, IL; his son, William Walsh Jr. of Troy, IL; grandchildren, Dakota Walsh and Payten (Ashton) Michaels; a sister, Julia Cathell of Redbud, IL; sister-in-law, Margaret Walsh of Troy, IL; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation for William will be 5 to 7 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL. Casual clothing is requested.
Funeral services will start at 7 pm on Friday, April 25, at Richeson Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Perry officiating.
