William L. Outten, 67, of Troy, IL, born February 18, 1951 in Sparta, IL., passed away on Friday February 23, 2018 , at Cedarhurst of Collinsville, surrounded by loved ones.

After graduating from Nashville High School in 1969, William continued his education, graduating from SIUC with his Masters Degree. He taught Vocational Education in both Albion and Sparta School Districts. William retired from Ameren as a Senior Fleet Acquisition Specialist after 26 plus years of service in 2007. He was a lover of cars, repairing, restoring or just driving them. He and Marilyn enjoyed their membership in Looking Glass Corvette Club, an organization which provided opportunities to serve, travel and to develop close friendships that brought much joy to both.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn S. (nee Kurwicki) Outten whom he married July 7, 1973 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Nashville, IL and she passed away September 26, 2017; parents, Donald T. and Janet (nee Brelje) Outten.

Surviving are his daughter, Rebecca Outten of Troy, IL; brothers and sisters, Connie (Tom) Miller, Nashville, IL, Teresa (Ron) Hodel, Fairview Heights, IL, Cathy Brakeman, South Gate, MI, Debbie (Alan) Ohms, Fairview Heights, IL, Steve (Theresa) Outten, Bethalto, IL, Barb Outten, Fairview Heights, IL; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Jim) Bathon of Pinckneyville, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
