Mr. William Baumhardt, 79, of Troy, Illinois, born August 22, 1927 in Lincoln, Illinois, died August 29, 2006 at Jefferson Barracks Veterans Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Baumhardt lived in the Troy area for the last 28 years. He was a member of Cahokia American Legion Post #784 and he was a School Crossing Guard for 4 years at Dewey and Clay Street and was well known by the children as "Mr. Bill". Mr Baumhardt was a Truck Driver for Moore Quality Farm.
Mr. Baumhardt is preceded in death by his parents William and Tekela (nee: Brown) Baumhardt, and two brothers, Leo and Benny Baumhardt.
Mr. Baumhardt is survived by his special companion, Gladys M. Karlas, two sons, Richard Baumhardt of St. Louis, Missouri and William (Donna) Baumhardt Jr. of Barnhardt, Missouri, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
VISITATION HOURS: Family will be receiving friends at the Troy V.F.W. on Saturday, September 9, 2006 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. As requested by Mr. Baumhardt, his body will be cremated.
