Mr. Ackerman, age 81, passed away Thursday evening, February 6, 2003, at his residence. He was a machinist by trade; however, he was the owner and operator of Tasty Treat in Troy for many years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Collinsville, IL. He was an avid bowler, having bowled a 300 game and a 700 series.

Mr. Ackerman was preceded in death by his parents, Carl W. and Melanie, nee Theiss, Ackerman.

Surviving are his wife Isabelle, nee Smith, Ackerman; a son William (Carol) Ackerman; a daughter Nancy (Bud) Klaustermeier; 2 brothers, Donald (Elaine) Ackerman and Kenny Ackerman, all of Troy; a sister Ruth Woker of Greenville, Illinois; three grandchildren, Beth Counts, Curt Klaustermeier and Jane Ackerman; and four great grandchildren, Austin, Abbey, Dalton and Clayton.

Visitation: 4:00 pm Sunday, February 9, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Monday, February 10, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Walther officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Troy.
