Wilfred Irwin Meier's Obituary
Wilfred I. Meier, 82, of Troy, Ill., born Nov. 22, 1925 in Troy, Ill., died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at St. Louis University Medical Center, St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Meier was a Life long resident of Troy, Ill. and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Wilfred enjoyed working on the farm, raising registered quarter horses, bowling, and dancing.
Wilfred was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Rose T. Meier (nee Butkus); his parents Fred and Elma Meier (nee Friedhoff).
Surviving are his Children, Dennis (Carolyn) Meier of Troy, Ill., Curtis Meier of Dekalb, Ill., Ronald (Rita) Meier of Dover, Tenn., Craig Meier of Troy, Ill., and Cynthia(Darrell) Butler of Troy, Ill.; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters Melverne Kosten of Edwardsville, Ill., Darlene Loyet of Collinsville, Ill. And one sisterinlaw Helen Lauchli of Maryville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Private services were held at Wilfred request.
