Obituary

Wilbur A. Wiesemeyer, age 88, of Maryville, Illinois, formerly of Troy, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2004 at Maryville Manor Nursing Home, Maryville, IL.

Wilbur was born June 27, 1916 in St. Jacob, Illinois, to Albert and Barbara (nee Petry) Wiesemeyer. He was a welder with Consolidated Aliminum, a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 708, Troy, Illinois. Mr. Wiesemeyer was a World War II US Navy Veteran, serving as a First Class Petty Officer. He enjoyed tending to his tomato garden and working crossword puzzles.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Russell, Ralph, and Kenny Wiesemeyer; three sisters, Esther Hartlieb, Irma Zorn, and Leona Meyers.

He is survived by three sisters, Marguerite Menne of St. Louis, Missouri, Alvera (John) Kapp of Highland, Illinois and Virginia (Roger) Finkbeiner of Granville, Michigan; a brother-in-law, Vernon Meyers of Edwardsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 3:00 - 8:00 pm, Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Laughlin Funeral Home

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 am, Monday, November 22, 2004 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1412 Ninth Street, Highland, Illinois

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church

Interment: St. Joseph Cemetery, Highland, Illinois
