Obituary

Wayne Mingus, 78, of Troy, Ill., born Jan. 18, 1936, in Matoon, Ill., died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Mingus was a member of Troy United Methodist Church, retired from Canon Industrial Machines and was a member of American Legion Post, Collinsville, Ill, he served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Oka, nee Carlin, Mingus; son, Larry Mingus; son-in-law, Mike Collins; two brothers; Gene and Leroy Mingus; and father-in-law, George Collins.

Surviving are his wife, Vickie, nee Collins, Mingus of Troy, Ill.; children, Terry (Joyce) Mingus of Meade, Kan., David (Susan) Mingus of Cleveland, Okla., Heather Mingus of Chicago, Ill., and Cheryl Collins of Mt. Zion, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Amy Mingus of North Pole, Alaska; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Trudy Collins of Decatuer, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice North.

Graveside services will be held at Camp
Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Ill.
