Obituary
Walter Francis Ernst, 92 of Sullivan, Missouri formerly of Troy, Illinois, born October 30, 1915, in Alton, Illinois, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Life Care of Sullivan, Sullivan, Missouri.
Mr. Ernst was a member of Frieden's United Church of Christ, Troy, Illinois. He was also a member of Marine Lodge #355 AF & AM, Marine, Illinois and Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Theresa Gertrude, nee Mispagel, Ernst. His wife Beulah E., nee Henry, Ernst. Stepson Grayden Carter, Brothers Albert, George, Charles and Oscar, Sisters Mary and Tillie.
Surviving are his daughters Carolyn (James) Fleming of Chatham, Illinois, Kathryn Reed of Sullivan, Missouri, Geraldine (George) Busteed of Neosho, Missouri and Step-daughter Kathleen Sargent of Granite City, Illinois. Sixteen Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren and 7 Great Great-Grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Frieden's United Church of Christ or American Heart Association.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday April 23, 2008, at Laughlin Funeral Home in Troy, Illinois, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2008 at Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, Illinois.
