Vita F. Carman, 88, of Maryville, Ill., born July 23, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo., died on Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Maryville, Ill.
Mrs. Carman was a member of the Church of Christ, she loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always ready for a good shopping trip, yard sale or going to eat out with family and friends.
Vita was preceded in death by her husband, Shackerford Edaniel Carman, whom she married on Dec. 22, 1945, and who passed away on May 17, 1966; parents, Vincenzo "Jim" and Vitina, nee Pisciotta, Pantaleo; and brothers, James, Tony and Jimmy Pantaleo.
Surviving are her daughters, Vera (Phil) Goble of Collinsville, Ill., Marlene (Terry) Marshall of Collinsville, Ill., and Donna (Ed) Broderhausen of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Sheri (Pat) Verstraete, Philip (Kristina) Goble Jr., Amanda Marshall, Jared (Lynda) Marshall, Emily (George) Hartley, John Broderhausen and Alyson (Derek) Kenworthy; great-grandchildren, Seth Verstraete, Kaitlyn Goble, Colin and Mika Wilken, Brandon, Brianna and Braydon Hartley, Isaac Thornton and Dylan Kenworthy; sister, Anna (Jim) Stanfield of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Larry Pantaleo of St. Louis, Mo.; and two sisters-in-law, Jenny Pantaleo of St. Louis, Mo., and Virginia Pantaleo of Moberly, Mo.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment in St. John's Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
