Virginia Irene Wyatt, 90, of Troy, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at her son's home in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Virginia was born in White Hall, Illinois, on September 4, 1921, to Margaret (McPherson) and Elah Walton. She was raised in rural Roodhouse, Illinois, and graduated from Roodhouse High School in 1939.

Virginia attended beauty school in Alton, Illinois, and then opened her own business in Troy, Illinois, at the age of 19. She met Wibur (Mick) Wyatt at the Moonlight Skating Rink in Troy. They were married on July 12, 1942. Thirty days later, Mick was sent to the Pacific Theater for 36 months.
Virginia and Mick were married for 59 years. To this union was born a son, Donald Neil Wyatt, on October 3, 1948.
Virginia worked until her retirement at the Troy Security Bank. She loved visiting with family and her many wonderful friends, whether in her home, at church, or on the telephone.

She is survived by her son Donald and his wife Laurie, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, her sister-in-law Pearl Sury of Troy, Illinois, a cousin Jessie Calvin, and many life-long friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday 9:30 to 11 am November 26, 2011 at Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, IL.

Memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday at Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, IL

Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy
