Virginia E. Clark, nee Lawrence, 92, of Troy, Ill.,born January 7, 1913, in Lebanon, Ill., died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Rosewood Nursing Home, Edwardsville, Ill.
Mrs. Clark was a housewife. She has lived in Troy, Ill. since 1980. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church; past member of the Ladies Quilting of St. Jerome's. She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed making the family members clothes and still to this day many family members have prom dresses and shirts that mother made for them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman M. Clark, whom she married October 21, 1939, and who died August 6, 1995; her parents, Guy and Irene, nee: Huster, Lawrence; a daughter, Janet M. (Russell) Westgate; five bothers, Nelson, James, David, Robert and William Lawrence; and a sister, Mary Agnes Vergari.
She is surived by a son, Thomas E. Clark of Troy, Ill.; a daughter, Patricia L. (Richard A.) Bregant of Cottonwood, Arizona; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses or to the Cancer Fund.
VISITATION: Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
FUNERAL: Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill., with the Rev. Monsignor Virgil W. Mank officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
