Obituary
Victor W. Diepholz Sr., 84, of Troy, Ill., born July 9, 1923, in Troy, Ill., died Friday , April 18, 2008, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, Ill.
Mr. Diepholz enjoyed working, after more than 40 years with Hunter Packing he was employed at Triad Community Unit 2 District for 8 years. He was a member of the Troy American Legion Post 708 for more than 60 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, receiving numerouis medals and accomodations. Victor enjoyed square dancing with his wife and working outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Susan, nee Keck, Diepholz.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret, nee Maly, Diepholz of Troy, Ill.; his sons, Victor (Kathleen) Diepholz of Troy, Ill., and Gary Diepholz of Troy, Ill.; his daughters, Jane (Greg) Klaus of Troy, Ill., and Trudy Diepholz of Champaign, Ill.; two grandchildren, Emily (Barrett) Sill and Erin Klaus.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, Ill.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at Laughlin Funeral Home in Troy, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, Ill.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the church with Monsignor Virgil W. Mank officiating. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery in Troy, Ill.
