Obituary
Mr. Verlin P. Engel, 85 of Troy, Ill., born December 2, 1920 in Mt. Olive, Ill., died February 11, 2006 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Mr. Engel was a retired Inspector for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He lived in Troy for over 30 years, moving from East St. Louis, Ill. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Member of the Masonic Lodge #712.
Mr. Engel was preceded in death by his parents Abe and Helen Engel, brothers Gilbert and Will Deitemenn, and William Hall and a sister, Phyllis Dietemann.
Mr. Engel is survived by his wife Betty (nee:Johnson) Engel whom he married November 3, 1946 in East St. Louis, Ill.,two daughters Karen Shaw of Troy, Ill.,Mrs. Pam (Alvin) Bretz of Troy, Ill.,grandchildren Mrs. Lisa (Tim) Thomas of Troy, Ill.,Wallen (Sabrina) Good of Belleville, Ill.,Jarrod Good of Troy, Ill.,Angelina Good of Troy, Ill.,great-grandchildren Rebecca Thomas, Wallen Good IV, and Lillian Good.
VISITATION:Friends may call at the Laughlin Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 13, 2006. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home "Chapel". Burial will be at Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Ill. Memorials are to be made to the Kidney Foundation.
