Verlaine E. Riva, 80, of Troy, IL, formerly of Mt. Olive, IL, born Saturday, September 18, 1943 in Walshville, IL and passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024 at her home in Troy, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Irene (nee Guthals) Saathoff; and her sister, Mariann Johnson

Surviving are her children, Kyle (Carla) Riva of Troy, IL and Jolene (Kyle) Hanner of Staunton, IL; grandchildren, Jacy Riva, Ryan (Rebecca) Mitchell, Alicia (Josh) Bauer and Candice (Philip Coulby) Greer, Michael (Rachel) Houston; great-grandchildren, Alex, Leland and Finn Mitchell, Carson and Alivia Bauer,  Hannah, Amelia and Aedan Houston; and her sister, Evelyn Gill of Carolton, TX; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
