Verla Mae Moravec, 87, of Troy, IL, born September 15, 1930 in Troy, IL and passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.

Verla was a life long resident of Troy and was a member of Troy United Methodist Church. She retired from Schnuck's Grocery/Restaurant department. Verla enjoyed working on puzzles, word find games, playing cards and bingo, never missed an opportunity to be outdoors and always enjoyed anytime she had to be with her family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Helen M. Totman; parents Charles G and Myrtle M. (nee Goetter) Harris; husband, Rudolph J. Moravec Sr.; and her brother, Charles O. Harris.

Surviving are her children, Susan (Larry) Weldon of Troy, IL, Richard (Mona) Moravec of Troy, IL, Randy Moravec of Alton, IL, Rudolph (Diane) Moravec Jr. of Sturgis, SD, and Jean (Jim) Burgess of St. Jacob, IL; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Roy (Joann) Harris of Collinsville, IL; sister, Shirley (Dennis) Strake of New Baden, IL; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
