Velva M. Gallaher, age 77, of Troy, formerly of San Bernadino, California, passed away Thursday morning, November 20, 2003 at her residence. Mrs. Gallaher was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on January 22, 1926 to Benjamin and Viola (nee Benedict) Taggart. She married Jerry Gallaher on May 17, 1947; he survives. She was a member of the Arrow Head Country Club in San Bernadino, California. She is also survived by a son, Dan (Cynthia) Gallaher of Roseville, Minnesota and a daughter, Mrs. Terri Barr of Troy, Illinois; two brothers, Wallace (Mary) Taggart of Homeland, California and Claude (Shirley) Taggart of Hutchinson, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Courtney and Hayley Gallaher and Rebecca Barr. No local services were held. Visitation and Funeral Services were held at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel in San Bernadino, California with burial at Mt. View Cemetery in San Bernadino. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Laughlin Funeral Home.
