Thomas Neal "Merle" Haggard Sr., 54, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born July 17, 1957, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Haggard was a machinist at B Line.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Neal Haggard Jr.
Surviving are his daughter, Mindy (Darren) Hediger of Highland, Ill.; his parents, Thomas Neal and Dorothy, nee Cross, Haggard; grandchildren, Megan Hediger, Brendan Varner, Hunter Hediger and Braydon Haggard; brother, Jack (Tina) Haggard; sisters, Sherry (Larry) Jackson of Lilbourn, Mo., Joy (Boyd) Johnson of Swansea, Ill., Linda (William) Keywan of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Jeanie Haggard of Troy, Ill., and Joanie (Bruce) Voyles of Worden, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the funeral home with Rev. Mel Kimberlin officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
