Thelma R. Kueker, 86, of Troy, Ill., born March 6, 1930, in Collinsville, Ill., passed away July 27, 2016, at her home.
Thelma was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy, Ill., the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Helping Hands, and the church choir. She was a graduate of Collinsville High School, Class of '48. She played the clarinet in both the Troy and Collinsville community bands for over 30 years. She enjoyed all of her clarinet students over the many years she taught private lessons.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Wally" Kueker, whom she married on Oct. 21, 1950, in Collinsville, Ill., and who died May 1, 2007; daughter, Pamela Young-Ogden; parents, Martin T. and Margaret J., nee Borsch, Deterding; and brothers, Roy and Earl Deterding.
Surviving are her son, Stephen W. Kueker of Troy, Ill.; granddaughter, Renee Young(Chris Weiser) of Ellsberry, Mo.; grandsons, Christopher Young(Meghan Crane) of Warrensburg, Mo., and David W. Kueker of Troy, Ill.; great-grandchild, Sydney Wallace; and sisters, Virginia Richter of Belleville, Ill., and Wilma Standerfer of Edwardsville, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
