Obituary

Susan Coke Omatsu, 72, of Troy, IL, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 10, 2025. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and love touched the lives of many.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Sue carried the warmth and spirit of her hometown throughout her life. Sue married her high school sweetheart, Michael, in 1977. He then proceeded her in death in 2021.

Sue found joy in the simple pleasures—reading, gardening, talking story with friends and family, and watching her favorite shows. Sue loved sushi and Hawaiian food. She always looked forward to a good meal with family. Her warmth and kindness made every gathering special, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Anna Raymer (Bryan) and Leslie Crouch (Dan); her cherished grandchildren, Xander, Mina, Emily, Cooper, Collin, and Evie; her sister, Bev Padasdao and brothers, Bill, Jim, and Logan Coke; and her stepmother, Dale Pratt.

A special thank you to her caretaker and friend, Sandra Hornsey.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church. Visitation will be held 10-11am; with funeral services beginning at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital or Ministries Unlimited in her honor.
