Steven "Steve" R. Rood, 53, of Troy, IL, born Wednesday, July 15, 1970 in Fort Benning, GA and passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at his home in Troy, IL surrounded by his loving family.

Steve loved all sports whether he was watching, playing or coaching.  He was proud of his Black Belt in Karate and enjoyed boxing.  Steve had a special love for music, cooking, baking for his family and friends.  He was always ready and willing to give the shirt off of his back to help others.  He was truly a special person.  He loved his family and enjoyed the times they spent together.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Erin Ernst.

Surviving are his wife Jennifer (nee Key) Rood; his children, Murrie D. Rood and Brody S. Rood both of Troy; granddaughter, Brynleigh R. Rood; his parents, Bob and Pam (nee Lancaster) Rood of Troy, IL; brother, Mark (Valarie) Rood of Jacksonville, IL; his brother-in-law, Jacob Ernst of Pierron, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
