Steve Kirsch, age 51, of Collinsville, passed away at his home on Monday, April 7, 2003. Mr. Kirsch was the owner and operator of Kirsch Automotive on Vandalia Street in Collinsville, Illinois. He grew up in Troy, attended St. Paul's Lutheran School, and graduated from Triad High School in 1970. He was an active outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and skeet-shooting. Steve was a member of the Edwardsville Gun Club and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Steve is survived by his sister, Antoinette Kirsch and her husband, Anthony Eckert, of Brentwood, Missouri; his brother Paul and wife, Lori, Kirsch of Racine, Wisconsin; several cousins, aunt Priscilla Kirsch and uncle Earl Kirsch and a nephew Robert Kirsch and Robert's mother Shirley. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Michael and Geoffrey.
Visitation: Friday, April 11, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.
Funeral: 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 12, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home, with Rev. David Stabenfeldt of St. John's Evangelical United Church of Christ officiating.
Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, Illinois
Memorials: Illinois Wildlife Federation or charity of one's choice.
