Stanley Richard Mertz, 76, of Troy, Ill., born March 2, 1937, in King City, Mo., passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Mr. Mertz was an accountant with the federal government. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Kerry D. Noellsch Hileman; grandchild, Taylor Hileman; and parents, Harold and Myrle, nee Stanley, Mertz.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca J., nee Hoffrogge, Mertz; children, Michael S. (Michele) Mertz of McKinney, Texas, Richard K. (Caroline) Truelove of Wentzville, Mo., Douglas S. (Lisa) Mertz of Owasso, Okla., Stephanie L. (Troy) Fisher of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Kelly L. (David) Trampe of Troy, Ill.; son-in-law, Shawn Hileman of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Chase and Kara Hubbard, Sarah, Alex and Cody Fisher, Justin Altenberger, Devyn and Drake Trampe, Trent and Travis Hileman, Kaitlyn (Freddy) Kuykendall, Cordell, Kaleb and Stuart Mertz and Joshua Gunn; great-grandchildren, Tristen, Hunter and Kolten Altenberger and John Mertz; and sisters, Judy (Verl) Flack of Lincoln, Neb., and Mary Ann Mertz of Kearney, Neb.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Minter Mortuary, Tarkio, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Minter Mortuary, Tarkio, Mo., with Rev. Glen Scott officiating. Burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Mo.
