Obituary
Shirley J. Cantrell, nee Williams, age 70, of Troy, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 24, 2004 at Maryville Manor Nursing Home in Maryville, Illinois.
Shirley was born May 10, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Carlisle F. and Mary (nee Ott) Williams. They preceded her in death. Mrs. Cantrell had lived in Troy for 18 years, coming here from California. She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church, Auxiliary of Anderson Hospital, Ya Ya Red Hats, and the United Methodist Women's Club.
She is survived by her husband Donald Cantrell, whom she married May 27, 1955 in Indianapolis; her son, Donald Cantrell of Troy; two daughters, Cynthia Moore of Troy and Susan Cantrell of Walnut Creek, California; a brother, David (Sharon) Williams of Arroyo Grande, California; special friends, Christine (Bill) Beguhn and their two children Billy and Emma; five grandchildren, Lucas and Jarrod Moore, Erin, Heather, and Megan Cantrell; and three great grandchildren Christopher, Ally, and Hannah Moore,
Memorials may be made to the Troy United Methodist Church or to Anderson Hospital Auxiliary.
Visitation: Friends may call after 4:00 pm, Sunday, September 26, at Laughlin Funeral Home and from 10:00 - 11:00 am, Monday, September 27, 2004 at Troy United Methodist Church.
Memorial Service: 11:00 am, Monday, September 27, 2004 at Troy United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Price officiating.
