Shirley M. Bovinett, 66, of Troy, IL, born Monday, January 11, 1954 in East St. Louis, Il and passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was truly courageous and strong, smiling everyday while she struggled through her disability for over 30 years.  She was a wise, confident, loving friend, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  A special thanks to her care givers, Lisa Baylor and Sheena Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven D. Bovinett Sr.; son, Michael E. Bovinett; granddaughter, Brittney Bovinett; companion, Thomas McElroy; parents, Bernard Sr, and Margaret (nee Dailey) Kane; and her sister, Jeannie Buehler.

Surviving are her children, Steven D. (Tanya) Bovinett Jr. of Caseyville, IL and Michelle Bovinett of Troy, IL; grandchildren, Preston (Amber O'Neal) Kueper, Adam Bovinett and Devon Bovinett; great-grandchildren, Addison and Penelope Kueper; brothers, Bernard Kane Jr. of Collinsville, IL and James (Jeannie) Kane of Fairview Heights, IL, Richard Kane of Collinsville, IL; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends
