Shelly Lin Reeves, age 59, of Troy, Illinois, passed away on August 23, 2025. She was born on October 21, 1965, in Rockford, Illinois, to Charlene L. (nee Stringham) Crane and the late Rex Crane Sr.

Shelly was known for her deep love of animals and the joy she found in caring for her pets. She also enjoyed relaxing with her favorite television shows and spending time on her tablet playing games. Her independence, personality, and devotion to her pets will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her mother, Charlene Crane; her brothers, David Crane and Rex Crane Jr.; her half-sister, Wendy Brummel; her step-sister, Michelle Radtke; her children, Christopher (Lisa) Newell, Carrie (Brian) Sanders, and Kenneth (Nicole) Newell; and her beloved grandchildren, JD Sanders, Kailey Newell, Aubree Newell, Brayden Newell, Brynlee Newell, Brycen Newell, Tyler Newell, Colton Newell, and Karson Newell. She also leaves behind her best friends, Angela Barber and Cheri Miramonti, who were like family to her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Crane Sr.

In keeping with her wishes, private arrangements will be held.

Shelly will be remembered for her love of family, her pets, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She will be deeply missed.
