Selda A. Reiss, 81, of Troy, Ill., born Feb. 28, 1934, in St. Jacob, Ill., passed away Dec. 19, 2015, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Selda was a long time member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality. She owned and operated Troy Food Mart for many years. Selda was a member of Jarvis Township Sr. Center and was very proud of working as an election judge. She enjoyed going to the gambling boats but most of all she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland "Rollie" Reiss, whom she married on Oct. 17 1953, and he passed August 28, 2004; parents, Edwin and Amanda, nee Voegle, Brendel; and brothers, Maynard, John Owen, Edwin "Baldy", James and Jerome Brendel.

Surviving are her children, Gregory (Beverly) Reiss of Shiloh, Ill., and Debra (Terry) Dachsteiner of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Kristy Reiss, Brian (Nicole) Reiss, Charles Reiss, Joseph Reiss, Tina (Ian) Johnston, Terry Dachsteiner Jr., Jamie Hendricks and Jennifer (Michael) Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Cole, Michael Wilson Jr., Ian Johnston, Brandon Swisher, Scarlett Dachsteiner, Addie Hendricks, Gregory Hendricks, Geneva Wilson, Dorothy Wilson, Todd Reiss, Dakota Reiss, Malik Nave and Kimoni Charles. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt cousin and friend.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at the church with Father Allen Hunter officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Highland, Ill.
