Russell Edward Schuessler, 70, of Troy, Ill., born Sept. 16, 1943, in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at his home.

Russ worked for Flo-Systems after retiring from Ryder PIE, where he was a truck driver for more than 20 years. His real passion was music, he loved playing the drums and playing with the band "Just Us Guys." He also enjoyed his motorcycle rides.

He was preceded in death by his father, William G. Schuessler; and brothers, Rolland Kniser and Raymond Schuessler.

Surviving are his wife, Judy "Sam," nee Warnecke, Schuessler of Troy, Ill.; children, Rusty (Cindy) Schuessler of Granite City, Ill., Vickie (Darell) Grapperhaus of St. Jacob, Ill., Roxana (Skip) Lundak of Troy, Ill., Tammy Schuessler of Highland, Ill., Jamie (Grant) Bourzikas of Fenton, Mo.; grandchildren, Tiffany (Tom) Pieper, Tracy (Kyle) Cauley, Tanya (Rick) Bisso, Sidney and Spencer Lundak, Jon and Dustin Schuessler; great-grandchild, Kenley Pieper; step-children, Nicole (Michael) Stillman of O'Fallon, Mo., and Travis (Jennifer Zobrist) Schmitt of Alhambra, Ill.; step grandchildren, Alexandra and Kristopher Benton and Rylee Schmitt; mother, Helen M., nee Weaver, Schuessler of Syracuse, N.Y.; brother, William Schuessler of Syracuse, N.Y.; sisters, Donna (Harry) Pelate of Caseyville, Ill., and Gertie (Adolph) Kaufman of Pontoon Beach, Ill.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.

Service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Price officiating. Interment in Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
