Russell H. "Russ" Klaustermeier, 89, of Troy, Ill., born Dec. 11, 1924, in Alhambra, Ill., died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014.
Russ was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy, Ill. He was an elder at St. Paul's for many years as well as a member of the Lutheran Men's Club and bowling league. He was the former owner of A and R Paints of Troy, Ill., and served 17 years as the Jarvis Township Tax Collector and maintained the buses for the Triad School District for many years. He was very proud of the 20 plus years he served Troy with the volunteer fire department, with three years serving as chief of that department. Russ and Audrey spent 18 years in Ocean Springs, Miss., recently returning to Troy, Ill. Russ was an avid St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals fan, never missing an opportunity to watch them play.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley, nee Nash, Klaustermeier; parents, William A. and Ruth, nee Howerton, Klaustermeier; and a brother, Bob Klaustermeier.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey Jane, nee Hood, Ebl Klaustermeier; children, Russell R. "Bud" (Nancy) Klaustermeier of Troy, Ill., Jeanette (Glenn) Gindler of Collinsville, Ill., Ronald (Carol) Klaustermeier of Troy, Ill., Michael (Carolyn) Ebl of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Thomas (Barb) Ebl of St. Louis, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the church with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
