Ruby Elizabeth Mines, nee Lauber, 90, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born May 26, 1918, in Walsh, Ill., died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Mrs. Mines was a homemaker. Ruby loved to cook and bake. She also had a great fondness for the care of dogs and birds. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Mines, whom she married Aug. 19, 1941, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Walsh, Ill., and who died Jan. 31, 1997; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth L. and Helen Mines; and parents, Oliver and Martha, nee Klein, Lauber.
Surviving are her children, Thomas (Cheryl) Mines of Troy, Ill., and Margaret (Bill) Geibel of Champaigne, Ill.; grandchildren, Greg (Terri) Mines, Amy Mines, Christina (Michael) Williams, Jennifer (Sean) Fackler, William T. (Christina) Geibel, Kimberly (Steve) Barr and Kelly (Riyad) Kalla; great-grandchildren, Laura Ann Mines, Alison Mines, Emily Fackler, Lauren Fackler, Joseph Geibel, Sydney Geibel, Andrew Geibel and Michael Williams; brothers, Albert (Rosemary) Lauber of St. Louis, Mo., and Larry Lauber of Bernicia, Calif.; sisters, Catharine Halfar of Lincoln, Neb., Ollie Richards of St. Louis, Mo., and Sr. Martha Ann Lauber of St. Louis, Mo.
Memorials may be made in the form of masses.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Troy, Ill.
Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at the church with Monsignor Virgil Mank officiating. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Waterloo, Ill.
