Robert L. Schmitt, 74, of St. Jacob, IL, born Saturday, August 20, 1949 in Highland, IL and passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, IL.

Robert is a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, IL.  He enjoyed fishing, camping and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Doris (nee Gaertner) Schmitt; his brother, Richard Schmitt; his sister, Karen Schmitt Row; and his brother-in-law, Charles Row.

Surviving are his brother, Gerald Schmitt of Highland, IL; and his sister-in-law, Laverne Schmitt of Staunton, IL; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
