Obituary
Robert J. Layman, 84, of Troy, IL, born, March 13, 1931, in Frostburg, MD, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL. He served his Country proudly in the United States Air Force. He loved gardening and being outdoors, physical fitness and running. Most of all he loved his family, his wife of 60 years, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James N. and Carrie S. (nee Smouse) Layman; brothers, Bill and Joe Layman; and sister, Phyllis Jawoski.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie (nee Fann) Layman; sons, Steven (Carol) Layman and James Layman of Troy, IL; daughters, Karen (Richard) Doyle of Troy, IL and Karla (Don Agers) Layman of Collinsville, IL; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (John) Redd and brother, Dale (Jackie) Layman.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Jim Donahue officiating.
