Obituary
Robert Wayne Johnson, 76, of Troy, IL, born August 5, 1937, in Collinsville Township, IL, died January 15, 2014, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.
Robert was a graduate of McCray-Dewey Class of 1955, American River College, Sacramento, CA and SIUE, Edwardsville, IL. He retired as a MSGT from the United States Air Force, serving in the Strategic Air Command from 1955 to 1979.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Edward H. and OLinda C. (nee Kessel) Johnson; step-mother, Bertha M. (nee (Kessel) Johnson; brothers Fred, Olin Dale, and an infant brother; infant sister; brother-in-law, Norman Holloway; sister-in-law, Judy Johnson; and niece Debra Johnson.
Surviving are his wife, Carol (nee Kochersperger) Johnson; Children, Jenniffer (Dennis) House of Kincaid, IL, Kathy Johnson of Troy, IL and Kevin Johnson of Troy, IL; brothers, Edward (Darilyn) Johnson of Troy, IL, John D. (Jo Nell) Johnson of Camden, TN; and sister Clara Holloway of Troy, IL.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1 pm. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
