Obituary
Robert Amner Droy, 87, of Troy, Ill., born Jan. 9, 1927, in Troy, Ill., died Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Robert owned and operated Droy Ford Sales, Troy, Ill., He served his country during WW II in United States Navy, and Merchant Marines and was a member of the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Elberta, nee Strong, Droy; and a great-granddaughter, Josephine Maria Droy.
Surviving are his wife, Irene L., nee Schlemer, Droy of Troy, Ill., whom he married on May 3, 1947; two sons, Randy (Cindy) Droy of Marine, Ill., and Bradley (Claudia) Droy of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Cynthia (Otho) Tucker; 11 grandchildren, Brett (Jennifer) Droy, Chad (Tara) Droy, Cory (Maria) Droy, Wade (Jennifer) Tucker, Will (Christy) Tucker, Jill (Matthew) Linsey, Shauna (Brad) Anderson, Lyndsay (Justin) Thompson, Jordan, Joshua and Brandon Droy; 12 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Trent, Kaylee, Owen, Quinn, Genevieve and Elizabeth Droy, Paxton and Wyatt Tucker, Jet Lindsey, Jack and Grace Thompson; and a sister Shirley (Bob) Matthews of Troy, IL.
Memorials may be made to Fisher House at Jefferson Barracks Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., or to Marine United Church of Christ, Marine, Ill.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Marine United Church of Christ, Marine, Ill.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at the church, with Reverend Phil Kirchner and Father James Flach officiating.
