Robert Lee "Bob" Luna, 64, of St. Jacob, Ill., born Aug. 21, 1946, in Caldwell, Idaho, died Monday, June 6, 2011, at his home in St. Jacob, Ill.
Mr. Luna was a railroad engineer for Norfolk and Southern. He had a passion, and gained joy as owner and cabinet maker at Blue Haven Wood Products of Troy. Bob was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW and American Legion and was a boyscout leader. He also served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Bertha, nee Hightower, Luna; and brothers, Paul and Bill Luna.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen, nee Hartnagel, Fink-Luna; daughter, Debra (Richard) Thornton of Maple Grove, Minn.; son, George Luna of Kentucky; grandchildren, Amber Knight, Steven Luna, Jasmine Luna, Allison Pierce, Faith Thornton and Chelsea Thornton; great-grandson, Treston Luna; and brothers, Willard (Gretchen) Luna of St. Jacob, Ill., and Donald Luna of Council, Idaho.
Memorials may be made to the Fisher House at Jefferson Barracks Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., with Terry Mabery officiating. Burial will be at Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
