Robert Leroy Bettorf, 73, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born March 4, 1943, in Edwardsville, Ill., died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.

Robert enjoyed his family, and loved to garden, hunt and fish. He served in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville R. and Opal, nee Dennis Bettorf; and two brothers, William and Glen Bettorf.

Surviving are his wife, Jewel, nee Lee, Bettorf; his sons, Wade (Frankie) Bettorf of Glen Carbon, Ill., and John Bettorf of Collinsville, Ill.; a daughter, Penny Bettorf of Maryville, Ill.; his grandchildren, Melissa, Laura, and Brittany Bettorf; and a sister, Ermel Hale of Granite City, Ill.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial will be in Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, Ill.
