Rita C. Gilomen, 91, of Troy, IL, born Sunday, August 13, 1933 in Highland, IL and passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, IL.

Rita was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, IL.  She was a faithful volunteer at Anderson Hospital starting when the hospital opened 47 years ago.  Rita was a longtime St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.  She was known in the Troy community as the cookie lady, baking cookies and putting a smile on many faces.  She loved her daughters and enjoyed the times they spent together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gilomen; a son-in-law, David Berry; her parents, Elmer and Agnes (nee Goestenkor) Frey; her siblings, Joe, Elmer and Cy Frey, Evelyn Schmidt, Alice and Marianne Carillon.

Surviving are her daughters, Dee Berry of Glen Carbon, IL and Shelley Gilomen of Troy, IL; her sister, Rosemary Kloss of Highland, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.

Mass for Rita will be held 9 am on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Highland, IL with Fr. Pat Jakel officiating.
