Richard J. Woods, age 71, of Troy, passed away November 23, 2003 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. Mr. Woods was a retired Systems Analyst from Citicorp Mortgage in St. Louis.

Mr. Woods was born August 18, 1932 to Robert F. and Beatrice (nee Hall) Woods in Troy, Illinois. He married Wilma Williams on August 30, 1973 in Belleville, Illinois. She survives. He was a member of Bluff View Baptist Church in Collinsville, Illinois and served his country in the US Marine Corps. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Woods of Troy, Illinois; one son, Richard (Joyce) Woods of Seattle, Washington; a step-son, Rick (Donna) Windham of Troy; a daughter, Marcia Renda of Edwardsville, Illinois; two step-daughters, Cathy (Rick) Blackston of Kent, Washington; and Vicki Woods of Atlanta, Georgia; and one sister, Nancy (Lewis) Kurke of Scottsdale, Arizona. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Morgan, Tiffany, Stephanie, Erica, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Victoria and Stephen.

Visitation: Friends may call after 4:00 pm, Wednesday, November 26 and from 9:00 am til 11:00 am, Friday, November 28, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: 11:00 AM, Friday, November 28, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Illinois with Reverend Alan Pineault of Bluff View Baptist Church, Collinsville, Illinois, officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Bluff View Baptist Church or Madison County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Illinois.
