Richard Keith Varland, 62, of Troy, IL, born March 4, 1961 in Chicago, IL and passed away on June 10, 2023 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

Richard attended the Lutheran Church and served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force 1979 to 1985.  He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed watching all sports.  He enjoyed his family and his dog "Coquai".

He was preceded in death by his wife, Raquel (nee Ramos) Varland; his parents, Omer and Margery (nee Williams) Varland.

He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Varland of Troy, IL, Daniel Varland of Troy, IL and Peter Varland of Worden, IL; nephew John Josaitis and other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
