Shevcik, Richard Frank, 84, of Troy, IL, born Oct. 28, 1928, in Granite City, IL, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.
Rich was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Shevcik; son, Kenneth Shevcik; parents, Frank J. and Florence A. (nee Carron) Shevcik.
Surviving are his daughters, Mary Elizabeth (Rob) Bonham of Alamo, CA, and Janis Elayne (The Honorable Keith) Jensen of Edwardsville, IL,; brother Ralph (Sharon) Shevcik of Troy, IL; sister Pat (Dick) Mulcahy of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Kathleen (Seth) McKinnon, Brian and Wiley Bonham and Justin (Jen) Brase and Rich's special friend Sue Hanks of Troy, IL.
Memorials may be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church, Partners for Pets, Troy, IL or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL, and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL, with Father Pat Jakel officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL
