Richard "Ricky" M. Zajac, 75, of Troy, IL, born March 11, 1947 in East St. Louis, IL and passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at John Cochran VAMC, St. Louis, MO

Ricky was a member of the Catholic Church and attended Our Lady of the Snows Shrine and St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.  He retired from General Chemical after 35 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew S. and Anna (nee Babinsky) Zajac; his brothers, Michael and Kevin Zajac; his sister, Kimberly Ligon; and his daughter-in-law, Joyce Sparks.

Surviving are his children, Dana L. (Gary Hoffman) Howard of Fairview Heights, IL, Wendy Zajac of Troy, IL, Gregory (Lori Price) Sparks of St. Jacob, IL, Craig Zajac of Troy, IL and Jason Zajac of Hillsboro, IL; grandchildren, Astasha, Chad, Nicholas, Chelsie, Sheldon, Austin, Savannah, Cole, Sabellah and Jada; great-grandchildren, Berkley, Cooper, Carson. Dakota, Liam and Gisselle; brother, Mark (Mary) Zajac of Fairmont City, IL; sisters, Charlotte (Harvey) Hughes of Tilden, IL, Cynthia (Dalbert) Williams of Troy, IL and Andrea (Brian) Scroggin of Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law Jeff Ligon of St. Louis, MO

Funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL with Fr. Alan Hunter officiating.  Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL
