Richard D "Harpo" Rankin, 91, of Troy, IL, born Thursday, April 2, 1931 in East St. Louis, Il and passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home in Troy, IL.

Richard served his Country in United States Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Ameren as a Distribution Tester. Harpo was a member of Revive Assembly of God Church, Collinsville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis J. (nee Cook) Rankin; parents, Edward J. and Callie (nee Parker) Rankin; brothers, Douglas, Edward, James "Bob" Sr. and Thomas Rankin; and his sister Betty Rankin.

Surviving are his children, Richard A. "Rick" (Sheila) Rankin of Collinsville, IL and Glenda R. (Joe) Henry of Collinsville, IL; grandchildren, Matthew (Carolyn) Henry, Adam Henry, Anna (Alex) Shriver, Liz (Drew) Askew and Brittany Henry; great-grandchildren, Annalea and Carly Henry and Jovie Grace and Lucy Jane Askew; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral service will be held 1 pm on Friday, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL with Rev. Mike VanBritson officiating.  Interment in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
