Richard W. Kruse, 66, of Fort Meyers, Fla., born Oct. 17, 1945, in Alton, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, in Fort Meyers, Fla.
Mr. Kruse retired in 1998 after 30 years with Illinois State Trooper, Collinsville District 11. He was a graduate of Illinois State Police Academy. Richard loved to travel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Esther, nee Gehring, Kruse; a son, David M. Kruse; and a son-in-law, Chris Gray.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanne M., nee Ameling, Kruse, whom he married in 1990, in Fairview Heights, Ill.; his daughters, Karen (Doug) Little of Troy, Ill., Kelly (David) White of Troy, Ill., Cari (Pete) Rapp of Fairview Heights, Ill., Ann Gray of Highland, Ill., and Cassie (Ray) Rettle of Belleville, Ill.; a brother, Robert (Janet) Kruse of Highland, Ill.; his grandchildren, Andrew Little Airman 1st Class, David White Jr., Lexie White, Katelyn Gray, Karlie Gray, Carson Rapp and Dylan Rettle.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Laughlin Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill. State Police will conduct their walk through at 6p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Laughlin Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., with the Rev. Jim Wiens officiating. Mr. Kruses wishes were to be cremated.
