Richard Lee Hughes, 88, of Troy, IL, born Monday, September 3, 1934 in Malden, MO and passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his home.

Richard was family first, he loved and adored his wife Pansy, his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Richard worked in construction, building and restoring many house in the area.  He and Pansy loved to garden and share their garden with neighbors and friends.  They enjoyed traveling and staying in their home in the Dominican Republic.

He was preceded in death his wife, Pansy (nee Ruddick) Hughes; parents, Lee S. and Bessie (nee Hanks) Hughes; 5 brothers and 3 sisters,

Surviving are his daughters, Barbara (James) Collins of Troy, IL, Linda (Dennis) Buckingham of Troy, IL and Rhonda (Mark) Rea of Fort Myers, FL; 10 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation for Richard will be 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm on Thursday, at Richeson funeral Home with Rev. Dan Perry officiating, Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
