Obituary
Richard Preston Carr, 60, of Troy, Ill., born Jan. 22, 1951, in Granite City, Ill., died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Richard was a truck driver and a proud member of Teamster Local 600. He loved his family, music and riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Preston Carr and Helen, nee Myers, Ricketts.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Tongay-Carr of Troy, Ill.; son, Jacob Carr of Troy, Ill.; daughter, Danielle (Bradley) Sowers of Troy, Ill.; brothers, Larry Ricketts, Morris Ricketts Jr., and Kevin Carr; sisters, Sherry Leary, Sharon Hammond, Sue McManis and Jeannie Chowning; and stepfather, Morris Ricketts Sr.
Memorials may be made to the Fisher House as Jefferson Barracks, Mo., or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Family will meet with family and friends for a celebration for Richard's life at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Weisemeyer Center lower level at Tri-Township Park, Troy, Ill.
