Ralph R. Vesci, 95, of Troy, Ill., born October 14, 1921 in St. Louis, Mo., and passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Ralph was a long time faithful member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marines during WW II and was deployed in the South Pacific. He was a life member of Tri-Cities Knights of Columbus, Granite City, Ill. VFW Post 976, Troy, Ill. Ralph was the General Foreman of the Brick Department at Granite City Steel for over 30 years. He was an avid Cardinals fan and enjoyed playing a good round of golf. Most of all he loved and was devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey A., nee Dunstan, Vesci, whom he married October 26, 1946, who passed away February 15, 2003; parents, James and Maria, nee Pannunzio, Vesci; son-in-law, Fred Rensing; brothers, Tony, Frank, Mike, Jonny and Nicholas Vesci; and sisters, Jane Podraza and Mary "Ann" Fischer.
Surviving are his children, Pam (Tom) Galati of St. Louis, Mo., Babette Rensing of Belleville, Ill., Jo (Stan) Graeff of Murphysboro, Ill. and Lisa (Ron) Frey of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Nick (Estera) Galati, Toni (Chris) Kent, Gabe (Bernadette) Rensing, Meg Graeff, Joey Graeff, Angie Thornton, Luke Frey, Jessica Frey and Natalie Coleman; greatgrandchildren, Tanner Thornton, Destiny Garrison, Kianna Broeker, Bailey Coleman, Finn Rensing, Kile Galati, Bella Galati, Sofia Galati, Max Kent, Charlotte "Charlie" Kent and Harry Kent; great-great-grandchildren, Lianna and Laraina Garrison and Donovan Keith; sister, Rosie Parker, Raleigh, NC. He was a dear uncle, cousin, and friend.
