Obituary
Ralph E. Neighbors, 88, of Troy, Ill., born November 14, 1926, in St. Louis, Mo., died Friday, May 29, 2015, at Hillsboro Nursing and Rehab Center, Hillsboro, Ill.
Ralph served his country in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of V.F.W. Post 976 in Troy, Ill. He loved his family, fishing, old cars, and driving his truck. He was a member of Local 618.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, nee Marvin, Neighbors; a son, Ralph Neighbors Jr.; a daughter, Theresa Neighbors; two brothers, Donald and Richard Neighbors; and a sister, Imogene Bethard.
Surviving are his children, William and Terri Neighbors of Troy, Ill., Margaret Merrell of Troy, Ill., Veronica Neighbors of Troy, Ill., and Mary and Jim Smiley of Highland, Ill.; his grandchildren, Michael and Kelli Merrell, Katie Merrell, Joshua and Shelby Smiley, Tiffany and Justin Dixon, Jeff and Erica Hall, and Jason Hall; a great-grandchild, Teagan Dixon; and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Lloyd Pieper.
