Ralph E. "Gene" Chambless, 79, of Collinsville, IL, born Tuesday March 21, 1944 in St. Louis, MO and passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at his home in Collinsville, IL.

Gene was a family man enjoying all the times spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.  He was always ready to go bowling and a good card game with his buddies.

He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Chambless; his parents, Ralph C. and Edith (nee Williams) Chambless; and his son-in-law, Scott Branch.

Surviving are his wife Darlene (nee Morietta) Chambless whom he married August 16, 1991; his children, Gary Chambless of Troy, IL, Steven Chambless of Collinsville, IL, Jeff (Kelly) Lamoreaux of Collinsville, IL and Deborah Branch of East Alton, IL; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation for Gene will be 12 noon to 2 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Richeson Funeral home, Troy, IL.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at RICHESON FUNERAL HOME, Troy, IL with Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating.
