Peggy Jean McAfee, 72, of Troy, IL, born Saturday, April 26, 1952 in Leavenworth, KS and passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.

Peggy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed reading books, vintage TV shows and Hallmark movies.  She never missed an opportunity to look for treasures while thrift shopping, always on the look for her angel collection.

She was preceded  in death by her son, Robert McAfee; her parents, Frank and Helen (nee Johnson) Matus; and her sister, Karen Loomis.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Richard McAfee of Troy, IL; her son, Rodney McAfee (Tara) Nashua, NH; her daughter, Dr. Trisha McAfee of Normal, IL; her grandchildren, Maureen, Audrey, Aaron, Abigail, Jacob, Dennis, Benjamin, Leah, Andrew and Paige McAfee; her brothers, David Matus (Mary) of Shawnee, KS and Frank Matus (Pam) of Kansas City, KS; her sister, Susan Matus of Basehor, KS and her best friend, Carolyn Varady of Alber, IL.
