Paul C. Jacob. 85, of Troy, Ill., born Sept. 6, 1927, in Princeton, Ky., died Friday, July 26, 2013, at home surrounded by his family.
Paul was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 25 years where he served as a deacon for many years. He proudly served his country during World War II in the Merchant Marines. Paul retired form Conrail where he worked as a terminal superintendent. He loved his family, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association. He enjoyed trail riding and being a winter Texan spending over 20 years in the Harlingten, Texas area and working for the missions in Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Tylene, nee Cash, Jacob.
Surviving are his wife, Mary L., nee Bovinett, of Troy, Ill.; son, Richard (Penny) Jacob of Highland, Ill.; daughters, Paulette (Dan) Darlington of Collinsville, Ill., and Cindy (Ron) Sifford of Sullivan, Ill.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Cadagin, Lauren Busiere, David (Meghan) Ziegler, Anne (Casey Lohman) Zarinelli, John Ziegler, BreAnn (Allen Kruger) Sifford and Dustin (Sarah Paulus) Sifford; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jake Cadagin, Kate, Michael and Jacob Ziegler and Blake Zarinelli; and his sister, Eva Jane (Jim) Redman of Belleville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, and 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the church with Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Highland City Cemetery, Highland, Ill.
